Description:

Learn to pick up any of the various Middle Eastern percussion instruments to play in a percussion ensemble, accompany a band, support a drum soloist, and play for dancers!!! You will learn all the basic tones, and various rhythms on every instrument, which includes the darbuka (Egyptian tablah), riq, daff, bendir, zils, and mazhar. Every student will receive a printout of popular rhythms and exercises to practice at home. There will be a small collection of drums provided for class use as well as for sale, and all are welcome to bring their own instruments.
